This place is nothing short of exceptional. The fusion of Southern BBQ and Palestinian cuisine is the food you didn't know you wanted, but definitely need! My partner, who is Palestinian, nearly burst into tears when she tried the hummus. The Kibbeh was hot and crunchy and so well seasoned. The mixed grill of kafta, lamb, chicken was served over a bed of smoked bulgur wheat and it was all amazing. On the BBQ side we had the smoked lamb neck and it was mind blowingly good. The smoke was not overpowering...the fat was perfectly rendered and the rub complimented the meat perfectly. And to finish, we shared the baklava...that is made in house and truly fantastic in every way. This is hands-down the best meal I have had in Indiana this year. You will only be cheating yourself by not coming here.

Overall a wonderful experience. As a Muslim it’s tricky to find a halal restaurant where I can get a good steak or smoked meat in general. And boy do we need it in the Midwest! A must try for meat lovers and those who enjoy a peaceful and charming environment.

I haven’t been inspired to leave a review in a long time, but I can’t stop raving about Kanoon Smoked Meat & Steakhouse! Our server Elias was outstanding, attentive, friendly, and made the whole experience even better. We started with the kebbeh, falafel, and cold appetizer platter, all fresh and delicious. For drinks we ordered their mint lemonade which was phenomenal. The highlight by far was the mixed grill platter and the lamb chops OMG! both had an incredible smoky flavor with a perfect char. The lamb chops were juicy and tender, and the mixed grill was outstanding. Easily one of my top 5 Mediterranean dining experiences. My wife and I will definitely be back. 5 out of 5 stars.
